Sarah Maynard, founder of THE START EFFECT, is a passionate storyteller and lifelong learner. She has worked with kids for almost 20 years in after school programs, mentoring programs and as a children's book writer and illustrator as well as a kids yoga instructor. She is also a mixed media artist and is currently working digitally to create designs for Cardifully.
Sarah received her masters in Digital Marketing Communications from West Virginia University in 2021, she is the ARA of SCBWI Pennsylvania: West, and the former President of the Pittsburgh Chapter of IAW.
After living in New York, Vermont, Virginia, Texas and Maryland, Sarah now lives in Pittsburgh, PA with her husband, their four kids, two dogs, and books in every room. When she’s not writing, drawing, or getting digital, Sarah loves hitting the water on her stand up paddle board, practicing her ukulele, trying out a new recipe in the kitchen, or finding zen on her yoga mat.
